Regulatory Analyst

A regulatory analyst works as part of a body to help to enforce the effective monitoring and compliance of businesses and organisations across the UK with regulatory law. They are there to act as a specialist advisory and research services and help with developing regulatory policy and new compliance laws.

Their typical roles and responsibilities for a regulatory analyst include: Monitoring and reporting on all third party and internal processes; working closely in line with fellow regulatory team to ensure effective and cohesive compliance programme and to help develop new policies and strategies; regularly reviewing all the organisation's literature and re-writing if necessary; closely liaising with all UK regulators; responding to, and resolving, complex technical queries and issues related to compliance law; and liaising with external regulatory lawyers as a means of determining requirements for writing reports and developing new pieces of compliance law.

A position holder would have an existing basic knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and would show a willingness to build on their understanding and develop a complex and updated awareness of compliance law and issues that surround it. Preferably, he or she would have experience in customer or stakeholder relationship management and would have an understanding of business disciplines. Strong analysis, research and communication skills are a necessary pre-requirement. Previous experience would include work with a compliance or regulatory environment, preferably within investment management.


Qualifications: At least an undergraduate degree in a related field.

Experience: At least two years work in compliance analysis role, experience in stakeholder relationship management would be preferable.
