Regulatory Enforcement Officer
A regulatory enforcement officer works as part of a regulatory body to ensure that the business practices of all organisations associated with the body's focus are in compliance with their practice standards. They are expected to acquire a deep knowledge or all related compliance laws.
Their roles and responsibilities include: Ensuring that business clients are receiving all of the benefits and rights that they should be enshrined with; performing close regular examinations of the transactions of businesses of the related sector; investigating complaints and following up enquiries with reports; reporting findings to senior enforcement officers and providing testimony at hearings.
A position holder would have had at least two years experience of investigatory and enforcement work within a regulatory body or in a closely related position. They would reflect strong written, IT and verbal skills as well as the ability to produce detailed and analytical reports that they would be willing to present to a large number of senior colleagues. He or she would have strong team skills and would hold an undergraduate degree as a minimum requirement. Additionally, they may be expected to travel across the UK, so possession of a full UK drivers license is usually required.
Qualifications: At least an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) is usually required.
Experience: At least two years experience of investigatory and enforcement work within a regulatory body or in a closely related position.
Skills: Strong IT, written and verbal communication skills, team work skills, problem solving and analytical skills.
